I spent all of my professional life as a Career and Technical Education professional. First, teaching middle and high school technology education and then, for 11 years, as a school district director of several arenas, including Career and Technical Education. Beginning with my paternal grandmother through our older son, David, our family has more than 210 years of service as educators. More than 90 of those years we have devoted to Career and Technical Education.
Even in retirement, I have kept actively involved through our state and national associations, SCACTE and ACTE. I have spent the last five years on the ACTE Bylaws committee (the last two as chair) and I’m excited that I have been appointed to represent South Carolina as the SC Policy Committee representative to the ACTE Region II Policy Committee, beginning July 1, 2016.
